The Melton Motor Sports Club held its Melbourne Challenge with around 45 entries competing in 3 different motorsport events. We had 3 of the 45 crews running Zestino Tyres, each one coming away with a trophy/medal.
Taking place in Bacchus Marsh at the local Motorsport Park, there were three separate competitions with a Motorkhana and Autocross on Saturday and the Rallysprint on Sunday.
With 34 entries for the Autocross, each having eight runs across the day and their fastest three runs count towards their total time.
Brad Hall was running Zestino Tyres Gravel 09R on his Subaru WRX. He claimed the fastest time on majority of his runs and picked up a three and a half second win over second place.
Hall also took part in the Motorkhana at the same time, taking first place in his class.
The Rallysprint had 19 crews, drivers & co-drivers getting six runs of the course with each run counting towards an overall time.
Once again, Hall was able to take the top spot and was untouchable all day.
Competing only in the Rallysprint was Graeme Wallis in his Peugeot FWD, coming away with 3rd outright.
Our third highest placed driver was Peter Tomaskovic, his first time on Zestino tyres.
Peter took out 3rd in class in the Autocross, he was on track for a solid result in the Rallysprint until an electrical fault sidelined them.
Another notable crew was Tony Stokes (with Peter Tomaskovic Co driving). Tony placing 2nd outright in the Rallysprint. Tony has shown great interest in Zestino Gravel 09R's and it will be a real pleasure to eventually have him on our tyres.
